        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  education law, in relation to posting the child
          abuse hotline telephone number in schools
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1. The education law is amended by adding a new section 409-l
     2  to read as follows:
     3    § 409-l. Posting child abuse hotline telephone number. 1. Every public
     4  school including charter schools shall post in English  and  in  Spanish
     5  the  toll-free  telephone  number operated by the office of children and
     6  family services to receive reports of child abuse or neglect established
     7  under section four hundred twenty-two of the  social  services  law  and
     8  directions  for  accessing  the  office  of children and family services
     9  website.
    10    2. The commissioner shall adopt rules and regulations relating to  the
    11  posting required by subdivision one of this section.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    13  it shall have become a law; provided, however, that effective immediate-
    14  ly,  the  commissioner  of education is authorized to promulgate any and
    15  all rules and regulations and  take  any  other  measures  necessary  to
    16  implement this act on its effective date on or before such date.
