Jay Hathaway, Cosby Accuser Chloe Goins Sues for Childhood Sexual Abuse at the Playboy Mansion, Gawker

Chloe Goins, one of more than 50 women Bill Cosby has allegedly sexually assaulted—and the only one whose criminal case against him is currently under investigation—filed a civil suit for childhood sexual abuse against Cosby in a California court Tuesday.

Goins, a model, says she encountered Cosby at the Playboy mansion in 2008, when she was just 18. She claims he gave her a drink that made her so “foggy” that Playboy boss Hugh Hefner himself told her she looked like she needed to lie down and offered the use of a bedroom.

The 25-year-old alleges that Cosby offered to lead her to the bedroom, and that when she woke up in a bed, naked, Cosby was licking her toes. She believes he bit one of them, causing her to wake up. She says her breasts were also wet and sticky, as if he had been licking them.

“He jumped up, pulled his pants back up quickly and left. He had seen that I was alert and bolted out of there, I was left in the room by myself,” she told the Daily Mail last December.

Her civil complaint lays out these same facts, and also summarizes the individual stories of 40 of the other women who’ve accused Cosby, to establish a pattern of behavior.

This is likely the first time many of them have been entered into a court record. Other than those of Andrea Constand, who was the first to come forward against Cosby in court, and settled her civil suit against him in 2006, the allegations against Cosby fall outside the statute of limitations.

“Today I recognize that I’ve taken legal action that many of the other victims of Bill Cosby will never be able to take,” said Goins. “For that reason, I offer this message to those brave women: your experience was just like mine and mine just like yours. We are not alone, we did not ask for these attacks, and these attacks are not our fault.”

Her lawyers claim hers is the first civil suit against Cosby to fall within California’s statute of limitations.

“This is an action for childhood sexual abuse pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedure Section 340.1(a). It is less than eight years since CHLOE GOINS has attained the age of majority,” the complaint reads.

Cosby will also be deposed Oct. 9, in the case of Judy Huth, who was also a teenager when the comedian allegedly molested her at the Playboy Mansion by grabbing her hand and using it to masturbate. Although the alleged assault occurred 40 years ago, she was able to pursue a civil suit due to her young age at the time: she was just 15.
